Best: getting pregnant and having healthy NT/anatomy scans with this pregnancy

Worst: pregnancy loss

Looking forward to: our LO being born; I have a couple of job offers in the works that will hopefully come through in the next couple of months, which would be *amazing* if it works out

Change/continue: We're expecting a baby within the next couple of weeks, DH is starting a new job in a completely new industry Jan 1, and there's a possibility next year that I may be switching jobs, which could involve a long distance move. So basically it feels like everything is up in the air and about to change. I just hope that I can maintain perspective, not get too stressed, and remember to live in the moment and enjoy the good parts of it all...

This is kind of hard!

Top from 2017: Having our baby girl at the very beginning of the year! DH getting a big promotion/raise/way better hours and work-life balance toward the end. Also my trip to Seattle for professional training was awesome.

Worst: Well, Trump being president is the universal worst. More personally and a total first world problem worst would be getting almost no house projects that we had planned done and discovering mold growing in the finished part of our basement.

Looking forward to: Growing and expanding my business! Taking a nice vacation with DH (hopefully.) Possibly TTC #2 in late summer or the fall.

Changes: I really, REALLY need to get more organized and keep a better house. And we want to get at least 3 major projects done on the house, too. I'd also love to get back into decent running shape.

Top event: getting pregnant with our healthy second baby girl arriving end of February/March.

Worst: The Trump presidency has been even worse than I ever could have imagined.
More personally, I guess it’d be the massive amount of dental work both me and my DH have needed which was a lot of $$.

Looking forward to: the birth of our baby girl and the new kitchen my husband is currently putting in. We just got our new range delivered today and I’m pretty excited to cook on something that isn’t from the 50s with only 2 working burners that only worked on a few settings :silly

Change/continue: I feel like this pregnancy hasnt been fantastic for my marriage so I feel we have some work ahead of us to reconnect emotionally/physically.

The top event from 2017: Giving birth to our first baby, who seriously lights up our lives.

The worst event from 2017: Job stress which has gotten A LOT better.

Things to look forward to in 2018: Moving into our new house, which should be built and completed by April.

Things you hope to change/continue: 2018 is going to be the year of self care. Being a new mom I put a lot of focus on DD & DH, but next year I plan to spend more time on myself.

Top: After miscarriages and unexplained infertility, getting pregnant with our son, who I'm currently staring at while napping.

Worst: A major fallout with DHs family that was hard to watch him suffer through.

Things to look forward to: Being done with babies and planning the future. Getting out of the newborn stage and my PPA getting better. I really struggle with this stage emotionally and physically but know from my first it does get better and quick.

Change/continue: Hopefully DH starting a position in March where he would be home every night. A big change for us will be our oldest starts pre-K and will have school every day.

This is so hard for me because I feel like this past year was a big blur with no major "events". I'll try though...

Top: Family trip to Disney, and/or literally any of the days that I got a decent amount of sleep

Worst: LO2's feeding delay, which is a struggle every day and has been for months

Things to look forward to: LO2 sleeping through the night, and hopefully starting to eat

Change/continue: Hoping to wean LO2 and finally be able to stop pumping in 2018. Hoping to continue having one date night per month, which really helps me and DH.

Best: getting pregnant by our 1st iui and having Evelyn in November
Worst: finding out we need a new heater on Christmas
Looking forward to: a first author publication, watching Evelyn grow and become her own person
Continue/change: figuring out how to be parents while also maintaining a good relationship
as a couple.

Top: Having my dd in February and watching the love between her and big brother.

Worst: Health issues with DH, which ended up being minor but still cost us an MRI

Things to look forward to: Getting our wedding 'blessed' in the catholic church 2/4. Having PTO again!! Woot!

Change/continue: DH and I definitely need more quality one-on-one time.

Worst: Miscarriage last month

Things to look forward to: Disney World in May, trying for another baby in the summer

The top event from 2017: Watching our 2 year old grow by leaps and bounds, watching her personality develop.

The worst event from 2017: DH was injured in November and I have been largely and unexpectedly solo parenting for the past 6+ weeks. Sept-Nov is my busiest season at work, so I was way behind with all things in life when he was injured!

Things to look forward to in 2018: Getting DD potty trained (looking forward to the outcome, not the process!), getting DH back to health, starting to TTC for #2

Things you hope to change/continue: I need to put substantial work into taking better care of myself and handling stress better. In January I'll be starting pelvic floor therapy, getting a stand up desk, hitting the treadmill and reading Present over Perfect.

Tops from 2017: DS1 has made incredible progress with his speech and loves his preschool he started at this fall; finding out we are expecting DS2

Worst from 2017: IL drama and some health issues for DS1

Things to look forward to in 2018: DS2 arriving in March; smaller scale-getting our basement remodeled next week

Things I hope to change: work more on self-care which I know will look different during the remainder of my pregnancy vs newborn days vs once DS2 is past the itty bitty newborn days. I also need to adjust some of my expectations and let go of some of my people pleasing tendencies when it comes to certain Family relationships. Hoping that will lead to less stress.

The top event from 2017: Getting pregnant on the first cycle with LO2 (with a lil help from metformin + progesterone, and cycle tracking) despite PCOS and some male factor

The worst event from 2017: Having 12K of unexpected car crash and medical bills, which is 1/4 of our take-home income.

Things to look forward to in 2018: having this baby in Feb 2018! Or maybe it will end up being March.

Things you hope to change/continue: I hope that I will be better able to handle and enjoy and relax during the 0-6 month period with LO2, because I was an anxious mess with LO1. I have been much calmer this pregnancy so hopefully that's a good indicator.

@bubblegum: Top event of 2017: Tied for making partner at my law firm and building and moving into our new home! Worst event: Not selling our other house - Womp womp. Still on the market nine months later and it’s killing us financially. Thing to look forward to in 2018: First family vacation in Janurary!! Thing to improve: Weight (ugh) and mindfulness. I just started a new daily meditation app and it’s great so far!

Top event from 2017: Starting a new job that I love (same career).

The worst event from 2017: An appliance in our house caught on fire and we were out of our home for three months. From 6-9 months of LO's life, we lived in a tiny Airbnb with two sixty lb dogs, two adults, and a infant. It sucked majorly.

Things to look forward to in 2018: So much, LO will hit full on toddler stage - turning two. I'm excited to continue to thrive in my career.

Things you hope to change/continue: I hope to get more one-on-one time with my husband. AND, I desperately need to take better care of myself. Diet/exercise have to start happening.

Great reflection!

Top: Having my child in September!! He is a joy.

Bottom: The shit storm of a birth. Being unable to have more children as a result. The struggle with depression and anxiety.

Looking forward to seeing my baby grow up, spending holidays as a family, finding a church for us to join, joining a mom's group.

Hope to change: to be more at peace.

I'll play!

Top event from 2017: LO FINALLY sleeping through the night (after 2.5 years of nightly wakeups!)

The worst event from 2017: Marriage struggles

Things to look forward to in 2018: Not sure - maybe a family vacation?

Things you hope to change/continue: I started focusing on self care in the second half of 2017, and it really made me a better mom, employee and person. I'm hoping to continue taking care of myself to better take care of others!

The top event from 2017: There wasn't one event, really, but we moved DS to a preschool and it's been great for his speech delay.

The worst event from 2017: Infertility

Things to look forward to in 2018: Hopefully getting pregnant. After 6 months of going back and forth with our county resource for speech therapy (such a waste of time and effort,) DS is starting speech privately.

Things you hope to change/continue: continually putting my trust in God no matter the outcome. Trusting that His plan is the best one I can be on.

The top event from 2017: Passing my professional exam so I could become a licensed engineer!

The worst event from 2017: BIL continues to deal with alcoholism which is sad and hard on DH and his family. I've also been going through a tough time at work (high stress)

Things to look forward to in 2018: Buying a house in the spring and TTC in the fall- 2018 could be a big year for us!

Things you hope to change/continue: I need to learn to deal with my job stress and depression better. I should really get back into yoga and other relaxing hobbies.

The top event from 2017:
We launched our own church while LO2 was 2 months

The worst event from 2017:
I def hit some personal low lows with 2 kids, a job, etc. And marriage probably hit some lower points as well

Things to look forward to in 2018:
LO2 walking, taking a first family of 4 road trip, hopefully being able to loose some weight after weaning, maybe a first family vacation via plane, and my sister may be married towards the end of the year!

Things you hope to change/continue:
Now that LO2 is no longer a baby, I really need to do more self care and prioritize DH as well

2017 is coming to a close and this year was filled with amazing memories and some not so good. I can't believe how quickly this year had come and gone. I'm a huge fan of reflection so let's collect our memories and place them here and move on to the new year!

The top event from 2017: Having my daughter, who absolutely completed our little family.

The worst event from 2017: Going throughout the whole year without my best friend.

Things to look forward to in 2018: FINALLY graduating from college!!

Things you hope to change/continue: I strive daily to just be a better me. More empathy and more strength then the day before.
