Oh, I so feel you on this one! Over Thanksgiving, my 92-year old Grandma kept saying, "You're just as thick as you are tall!" I finally said that I'd only gained 10 lbs, which is on the light side for twins at 20 weeks, and she said, "Well, it must be all air in there because you're just thick." The only thing that kept me from crying is that as soon as my SIL saw me she was talking about how I look thinner in my legs and face and am all tummy.

Relatives!

@BoogieBea: Oh that sucks! And yeah, no one on either side of our families are ever discreet or tactful about telling someone when they've gained weight. Oh no, it's straight up, "don't eat this/that, you're getting too fat!"

@autumnlove: haha, it's always one extreme or another. Like everyone's been on a bump watch for a few months eyeing me like a hawk, and now that they can "see it", I'm being told to watch what I eat. Such a lose/lose.

Awww sorry! My mom usually reminds me how I should watch my weight but this time it is the opposite and just as annoying! She sends me 4 texts a day to remind me to eat!

Two weeks ago, during a family get together, my aunt said (not discreetly either) that I've gained weight. She said that most women are skinnier after having kids but I'm seemed to have chunked out. I didn't even know how to respond.

So I had dinner with my mom, Grandma, Great Aunt, and Great Uncle tonight. I was actually told that I need to watch my weight and diet and not gain too much (by G Aunt & G Uncle)! I told them everyone's been telling me how small I am still, and they just said, "oh yeah, well, you're Asian - and you'll BLOW UP in the last couple of months..."
Gotta love my tactless Asian relatives... I should be so used to this kind of stuff by now. *sigh*
