We LOVE LOVE LOVE our extend 2 fits. So much that we have bought 4 (2 were in car accidents) across 2 years. We plan to buy another when my son outgrows his budget, back up seat, and we will possibly buy more 3 more for LO2 and just keep LO1's for him to flip around.

It is very compact front-to-back. It is very comfy and the 2 cup holders is so helpful for not just cups, but snacks and small toys. It is easy to adjust. It is a great price point.

I've been watching the price for 2 years now and $115 is the lowest I've seen. It is $140 sale price often, $160 standard.

However it is not necessary until baby is 7-12 months sooo it is up to you and your storage space. I was thinking of buying another due to the price but I don't have any more space and LO2 won't be ready for 8 more months.

@PurplePumps: we received our 4 ever when I was about 32 weeks pregnant as a gift. We didn't use it until he was about 8 months, and I feel confident we will get tons of use out of it before it expires. Worst case scenario our son outgrows it before he's 9 years old; but he's a big kid and might be out of any kind of booster at all by then

@MaryM: oooh, ok, that makes sense. I didn't know if the infant ones were deeper or just harder to get a baby in and out of.

So... I just googled the exp date for this seat and while I know it's on the bottom of all seats, it seems to say 10 years. So... seems to be safe to buy and hang on to for a while?

Absolutely, purchase this seat. You can wait on it but, if you are going to buy a carseat, make it this one.

After 2 car seats (one infant seat from Graco and a large front facing seat that my son hated), we purchased THIS one for my son when he was 2.5. It is fabulous. It is adjustable and is compact enough to allow for a booster seat next to it (or another carseat) AND room for an adult without hogging the entire back seat of my Jeep! My son, who is now 3.5, seems comfortable in it and has never complained riding in it. We love that he was able to transition seamlessly with the different positions ... We didn't use all 6, though. Oh, and the dual cup holders are a Godsend - one for his cup of Propel and one for finger puppets or mini action figures. It is all-around a great seat and a worthwhile investment. 😀

@MaryM: you could start with one convertible and continue to use the infant seat in one car until it's outgrown. Just keep it snapped in. In a small car the extend to fit is great - it is one of the most compact seats. (Just make sure it's the regular one, the 3 in 1 and 4ever extend to fit take up more space). The only one that is more compact is the Cosco scenera next, it can can be very upright once a child can sit unassisted.

@MaryM: Is the convertible much easier to get a baby in and out of than the infant carrier? Couldn't you just take him out of the infant carrier too?
@MrsSCB: oh wow, glad to see the awesome deals come around more than just the once.
@MrsBucky: That is a good point.
Seems the consensus is that I should wait. Thanks!!

We love ours. Favorite features: cooler and more breathable than other seats, 6 recline settings so once they have good head control you can have it fairly upright rear facing for more leg room in front, 2 cup holders. I'm considering ordering one now for our 2 month old! Such a good deal.

@MaryM: I forget about the car size. My husband is 6'5" and I'm 6'1" so we have a fullsize truck and my Traverse. I have had the regular 4ever in my sister's impala and my mom's buick lucerne without problem, but they're not small sedans really.

My son is 5 months old and I'm shopping for convertibles because I'm so tired of carrying him in his carrier to daycare every day (dad does pick up, so we have to take his bucket seat in and store it)

Also looking at the Graco 4Ever and comparing to the Britax Boulevard.

I would also recommend waiting. A year of use lost from the life of a seat is a lot, especially where I live where kids are in some sort of seat until 8 yo. If you plan to have other kids, you may want to pass this down, etc. better to wait and buy in closer to when you need it and look for a deal then.

I have it and really like it. I like that it has two cup holders. The straps are really thin which drives me nuts when I am trying to pull it tight. Other than that, it's a good seat. We switched around 10 months.

I agree with @catgirl: to wait. I don’t have experience with that particular seat, but in general I think it is better to wait and know what your particular needs are and see what has come out to the market. For example, we got my older daughter a chicco nextfit when she moved to the convertible. It had a high rear facing limit which was important to me and installed with latch easily. But the newer britax seats with the super easy seatbelt installation and higher height limits seem even better. It wasn’t available when I bought the nextfit but just to show how waiting can be good.

Both my kids moved to the convertible right around a year, but they are both pretty small. I did leave the infant seat in the car by the last few months, basically treating it as a convertible, rather than carrying it around.

It's a great seat - I wish we had it but it came out a month after we bought our convertibles. It has a higher rear facing weight limit than many seats and it is one of the most compact convertibles when rear facing. Though it is very wide.

That said I would wait on buying. It would be a bummer to lose that much time from it's lifespan. While that is a good price I regularly see it on sale for $120-125 so it's not an absolutely shockingly low price. New seats are constantly coming out so there might be a better seat for you/your LO next year. And if your LO is smaller or average you would likely not need the high limit of this seat.

We have one in our nanny's car and haven't had a single problem out of it. That is a pretty good deal too. If you have the money to spend on it, I would get it and store it. If you pass on it, Bed Bath & Beyond allows you to use the 20% off coupon on non 4ever Graco seats, so you could use it on that later too.

My son is big, he was a week early but weighed 9 lbs 8 oz & 22" long. He switched out of the infant bucket seat to a RF convertible around 8 months because he got way too heavy to carry in the bucket seat.

The Graco Extend2Fit car seat is on sale at Amzaon for $115, which from past history price looks like a really good deal for this highly rated seat. So... 2 part question.
1-Does anyone have this and would or would not recommend it.
2-I'm not due until September, and we have an infant car seat (Chicco keyfit with 2 bases for both cars), so we wouldn't need it for maybe another year? (When do kids usually outgrow the infant car seat?) Is it worth buying at this price to basically store for a year until we need it, or just wait until we need one to look again and hopefully get another good deal?
