College/moving out is so far away still. Also, if my kids want us to pay for college, then they'll be going to a state school. I'm more worried about saving for retirement. We'll probably start for DD1 this Sept once she starts K, and then for DD2 also when she starts K and we don't have to pay an arm and a leg for daycare. And then probably first focus on paying off our house and then will put more efforts into saving for college and of course full steaming ahead for retirement. </p> <p>Anyway, I know how time flies! To be fair, we didn’t start saving this once LO was born it’s a fund that now has a purpose. DH says he’ll be fine when the time comes and that’s honestly the only thing that makes me less anxious. DH worked three jobs to come out of school debt free and he’s adamant we give LO that gift. She graduated from a small honors, liberal arts school. Cap and gown was optional even for both students and professors. LO loved the costume parade. He saw a “Baby” Shark and Spider-Man. :grin: Of course I also thought about how much his education is going to cost us and hope his college fund grows enough to finance his dream’s foundation. We have $60k in there now and 15 more years to grow that and contribute more and yet that feels so inadequate. :crying: :bummed: </p> <p>Oh, and this happened...immediately after the ceremony was over the school had appetizers and desserts out.
