my daughter gets this from her daddy, shes super greasy in the warmer months and so I have to shampoo daily. Winter months I aim for just water play every second night.

My daughter's hair used to be like that too, but now she can go with it washed every other day - we tried the powder in desperate times for a quick fix, not sure what happened to make her hair stop being as greasy I think her hair just changed. I did find that it looked/felt better if I stuck with my Disney baby shampoo - when I would use my J&J travel size stuff on trips, her hair would look extra greasy and she would get buildup on her scalp.

Yeah, I'd try washing it less. Maybe skipping the shampoo entirely. I don't shampoo my daughter's hair, and it has a lovely texture - might be the same for yours.

@mediagirl: I believe in #2 - same for your skin. If we constantly wash away the oils, our skin and hair thinks it needs to produce more oils to compensate.

@Mamaof2: nope. I used to think that was the problem until I monitored her and ... nope.

@lilyann: I don't really like baby powder so we don't have any in the house but I had seen that idea online, too.

I read two totally conflicting things while researching it online.
1. Wash it more often if it's oily.
2. Wash it less often if it's oily.

The internet is confusing.

Can you sprinkle some baby powder in her hair? My mom used to do that when I was little. I use dry shampoo now for this reason but not sure if you want to use that on your toddler?

O's hair used to get like that. I'm not really sure why. I switched shampoos and it hasn't been an issue. I also rinse it like, 15 times because I feel like I never get it all out (personal problem, LOL).

I find some mornings if it looks gross, after brushing it a few times it looks clean again? Kinda strange, but.

My lo has the greasiest hair. I have no idea why. We wash it every or every other day and by the end of day 1, it's a greasefest. Anyone have experience with kids with greasy hair and any suggestions on how to keep it from getting so gross?
