I went to visit her in the hospital, said "whoa," and she laughed and said it was fluid and her uterus. Then she moved it around to show me how crazy squishy and loose it was, and I was totally blown away. I think I had just never even thought about what it would look like right after giving birth. I remember when we visited my SIL 5 days after she had her baby (and before we had ours), my husband was like "What's with the belly?" Yep - he's that tactful. He (and I) had no idea that was what was normal!
