I've only read the first one and have started the second (think the third one comes out this month?), but the All Souls Trilogy is great so far!

I also spend a lot of time in the car listening to audio books (about an 1.5 hours/day). I got really sick of the morning radio hosts (and after I listened to them debate whether Teddy Roosevelt was a president for 15 minutes and come out with the wrong conclusion, I was pretty much done with that).

Anyway, I've enjoyed Steve Berry (a bit like Dan Brown) and right now, Elizabeth Peters. Peter's Amelia Peabody series always makes me laugh. I've also listened to Rick Rioridan's young adult series, which were pretty good (but one of the narrators drove me bonkers with long pauses).

Oh, some books at my library are classified as always available, so I have a few of those on my list too. That way if I'm waiting for something to come available, I don't have to listen to the morning radio. So far, most of the classics and, oddly, the Stephanie Laurens romance novels have those classifications. I also think it's a bit funny to hear the British male narrator read the steamier scenes from the romance novels.

@lovehoneybee: I also second the Thursday Next series and anything else Jasper Fforde writes. Pretty much favorite author and series ever! Have you read Shades of Gray?

I loved sookie stackhouse novels as well. I actually read all of Charlene Harris' series. She had several. I am currently reading the Hannah Swenson series by Joanne fluke. They are a fun murder mystery Series and all of them include desert recipes (the main character owns a cookie shop). The first one is the chocolate chip cookie murder.

I absolutely love books on CD! I spend a fair amount of time in the car as well, so I think they are essential.

I usually pick whatever is available at the library... I really liked the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsey (the ones the TV shows are loosely based on), anything by Jane Green or David Sedaris (although his latest book was not so great), and chick-lit.

@loveisstrange: Yes yes - Daughter of the Forest is AMAZING. Plus it's fairly stand-alone, so you could stop after just that one, but there are two more (I think just two) books!

If you like fantasy, I recommend:

The Night Angel Trilogy
Kingkiller Chronicles
Mistborn series

If you like historical or fantasy (with a dash of romance), I highly, HIGHLY recommend the Sevenwaters Trilogy/Series by Juliet Marillier. The very first book, Daughter of the Forest, is one of my all-time favorites. Not sure it's an audiobook though.

Not a series, but Memoirs of a Geisha is another one of my favs.
