I really studied the sales at BRU to know what the retail prices were on things. Sometimes people set prices kinda high. Usually I won't buy used unless its more than 50% off retail. </p> <p>I agree with digging around. There are always TONS of bumbo seats. At the start of the sale you can dig and find some for $5-10. Towards the end of the sale only the higher priced ones are left ($20+). Somehow they all get sold every year! </p> <p>Things will be moving really fast and really overwhelming. I had a list (I think its a good idea to write out all of the things you're looking for-I took my MIL and gave her a copy of the list too, because two sets of eyes are better than one) and managed to get: A jumparoo, two sets of pack and play sheets, high chair toys, stroller/car seat toys, a bumbo and lots of clothes. I did not buy a playmat or exersaucer because my SIL handed me down hers (otherwise, I would have bought them at the sale)</p> <p>My plan was to try and buy things that I thought she might use in the first 4-5 months. I had told myself no newborn sizes, but ended up buying a few newborn things at the consignment sale (and I'm glad I did). I also bought all of her PJs and gowns (because everything up to about 3 months is normally in excellent condition) at the sale, too.</p> <p>The fall sale is coming up this Friday and my plan is a little different this time around-I am looking for lots of books and walker/push a long type toys (that will keep her entertained when she's more mobile). Clothes are tough though, because the older they get, the worse the condition. Make sure you sit down and look at everything!
