@kiddosc: Thank you! My son never had diaper rash so I am flying blind here. I have been sticking with just coconut oil and it seems to be doing the trick.

Both of my kids had green poop for most of their infancy, but no other symptoms of discomfort. The ped wasn't concerned so we just ran with it. I've always aquaphor for any and all rashes and had them clear up right away. Using max strength butt paste, coconut oil, and mustela micellar water sounds like maybe too much on her new baby skin.

This is what happened when my milk was imbalanced, as others said. More block nursing should clear it up!

I also noticed that DD's poops were green when I ate a lot of green vegetables!

Sometimes it can just be a developmental thing that baby will grow out of as the gut matures. If Baby is otherwise happy then I wouldn’t be too concerned.

@KT326: @Pollywog: @jape14: @turquoisemama: Thank you! I was reading that babies react differently to breastmilk imbalances which may explain why I didn't have it with my son. I will stick with block feeding and try the Burts Bees cream. :happy:

Seconding block feeding. And I agree that Burt's Bees is the best diaper rash cream. It works for our LO better than triple paste, and it's way cheaper!

@crazydoglady: That happened to both of my girls around that age. I think it was a foremilk issue and it did come and go periodically. As for the rash, Burt’s Bees is the absolute best rash cream I’ve tried. It’s extremely thick.

@crazydoglady: that's a foremilk inbalance. If you block feed it'll resolve itself in a few days

My son has this off and on. I think I might have read it could be too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk? Wasn't anything severe and he doesn't have any allergies or sensitivities to anything.

@crazydoglady: both my breastfed newborns had frothy poop, especially at times where they seemed extra gassy. Seedy is good! Hopefully the combo you are using clears it up quickly!

@JJ2626: She definitely seems normal and unfazed by it.
@Pollywog: More frothy or seedy.

Green poop is normal in a breast fed baby! We had bad diaper rash around 3 weeks too. Desitin really thick got rid of it in a few days. I felt awful but she didn’t seem all that bothered by it.

Is it mucousy? Any blood or black specs? If so it could be a dairy issue

@crazydoglady: The rash would bother me more than the green poop. Our pediatrician said breastfed baby poop can be any shade of green or yellow.

We use triple paste for my youngest, it has been the only thing to clear up any diaper rash he has had.

Since this weekend, my 3 week old has had on and off green poop. Sometimes it is the consistency of the mustard-like poop (but green) and then she just had a very frothy green poop. It feels like she is constantly pooping, but it's at regular intervals, so I am not sure I would call it diarrhea. I am trying to make sure I just feed from one breast to make sure she's getting the hind milk, too. She also has a pretty bad diaper rash. I never had this with my son...any insights or advice? Should I call the pediatrician?
