Like you Mrs.Bird I'm allergic to most antibiotics so I try not to take them unless I absolutely have to. One OTC sinus med that works wonders is Tylenol Cold and Sinus Severe pills. I'm not a fan of regular Tylenol, but these ones really help. It's thick and chunky, your head will kill you, it won't be draining....they hurt soooo bad. Standing up hurts! It takes about a week for a sinus infection to develop after a cold, so you may not be there yet. I had one last month and they put me on mucinex d and an antibiotic. At least take some mucinex to get some drainage going on. I would say that the best course of action if it is causing you distress would be a decongestant, this will help relieve the pressure in your sinuses and get rid of that mucous containing all the nasty bacteria.
