@DesertDreams88: oh man gimme a pizookie! My friend (who was also my boyfriends roommate) was a chef at oregano's and would bring me pizza cookies when he got off work. 😍

Agree with everyone else. You'll need heated pool at that point, so Scottsdale is your best bet, and definitely do a day trip to Sedona. Other day trip ideas would be Jerome for wine (maybe not if your preg, but I figured I'd throw it out there) Prescott for outdoors activities, and Flagstaff for awesomeness.

A local chain here is Oregano's Pizza and it's absolutely delicious. I had several locations throughout Phoenix.

The Desert Botanical Gardens is cool for adults. Old Town Scottsdale is good for shopping. The Westgate entertainment complex over on the in Glendale also has shopping, movies, sports, outlets, movies, and restaurants.

I don't know much about spring training for baseball but it's that time of year.

I really like the Camelback Inn resort - close to downtown scottsdale, beautiful view of Camelback Mountain. Sedona is a few hours away. Good pools, great spa and separate adult pool. The restaurants there were very good as I recall.

Scottsdale is the way to go for warmth. The weather will be lovely in March, although you may find the water too chilly for swimming. There are a few resorts, but they can be pricy. I'd lean toward AirBnB or VRBO. I agree with @Mrs. Microscope: that Sugar Bowl is delicious. Depending on how far you'd like to drive, there are also some good food truck pods around there. Downtown Phoenix has a great children's museum and botanical gardens.

Sedona is a very nice day trip (2ish hours) and has beautiful outdoor things, as well as some nice spas. But I have to say that driving a little further to the Grand Canyon is worth it. It's 4ish hours from Scottsdale and you could stay overnight in Flagstaff (where I lived for a long time and LOVE and have 1 million recommendations for).

Arizona in the springtime is a great trip - I think you'll have fun!

Stay in Scottsdale and visit Sedona! In March heated pools will be fine, but kids don't usually care too much! Be sure to go to a spring training game or 2. Super fun for families and tickets are cheap. Also in Scottsdale be sure to go to Sugar Bowl for ice cream. As for other food, stick with local places and avoid big chains and you will be fine. So much good food!

@Cole: I am near Scottsdale & March might be a bit cold for swimming unless you have a heated pool. Westin Kierland I've heard has good kid activities, but I've never been though.
Sedona is beautiful and very laid back. We visited there like 8 years ago (in June), and had our dog with us, so we stuck to our hotel most of the time when it came to eating. (He's very anti-social lol)

We vacationed and rented a house with another family in Scottsdale off VRBO. It was a nice house with a gorgeous pool and cheaper than doing a hotel per night.

@JoyfulKiwi: I think Scottsdale or Sedona? Mainly we are looking for warmth and a great place to stay.

I think we have settled on Arizona for a vacation with my husband's family in March since zika has made just about everything else unreasonable and Hawaii is just too far. Any awesome suggestions for us? Places to stay (I think we're leaning towards an all inclusive or renting a large house with a pool), things to do, places to eat? Two of us are hoping to be pregnant by then. Please tell me we can swim then...

Thanks!
