My kids wear both sizes interchangeably right now, and 2t is just slightly slimmer/longerwith no onesies and wider neck holes, 24m is a little boxier. I have several pairs of non stretchy pants from them that fit well over cloth diapers. I also found that the HM brand fits pretty well too, and most have adjustable waists. We have a lot of hand-me-downs though and I think pants were definitely wider a few years ago. Not all 2T is super slim.
