Buy some of those extra long tanks from the Gap. I guarantee they will not be too short even by the end!

@Running Elley: CUTE. I have so many cute belts that I can't wear--I should plan my maxi dresses based on the belts I already have. Thanks for the idea!

@winniebee: YES! I have a pair of dress pants that thankfully I don't have to wear anymore but... but.... The butt and thighs are too tight now! So dad and depressing! Also, my first maternity purchase, a shirt, is way too small now and a pair of pants shrunk in the dryer. :-\

I invested in one size up tanks from Old Navy and if I have to, I'll we those and one of dh's shirts to work until I give birth!!

I had to buy lots of new maternity clothes when I got bigger too. I shopped at a consignment shop though so I just turned the smaller ones in and used that money to buy more.

I haven't bought any maternity tops yet, but I a finally going to have to bit the bullet I guess. I was hopingto hold out until it was maxi dress time. My maternity jeans are getting very snug now and my maternity trousers are still okayish, but I don't see them making it more than another noth or so. Ugh.

@Running Elley: My bump wasnt all that big (Liv was born in July) so I had a lot of non-maternity ones from like Forever 21 (I bought 2 sizes up) that I would belt right under my bustline to give it some shape. But I did get several from Target (I loved that place lol) and Asos (again, loved it) This one was my favorite

http://www.target.com/p/Liz-Lange-for-Target-Maternity-Pleated-V-Neck-Maxi-Dress-Black/-/A-13177369

and they had a bunch to choose from http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=liz+lange+maxi+dress&category=0%7CAll%7Cmatchallany%7Call+categories

Thank you for posting this! I was starting to think I'm the only one with this problem.

I have 5 weeks to go and I am about to buy more maternity clothes! It seems like I don't have enough warm weather clothes and the clothes I do have aren't fitting well across my bump.

I'd love to wear nothing but dresses, but I can't seem to find dresses that don't make me look like I'm wearing a circus tent.

@stiffaknee - yes! I'm having the same issue with maternity clothes - many of them seem to be falling apart. I wash everything on the delicate cycle and most everything is line dry, so I'm not sure why things are falling apart. The only thing I can think of is I'm wearing the same things all the time, so I'm washing the same things over and over again, and after a while they just don't last.

I just made tops work with maternity camis underneath because I was too cheap to buy more stuff. Next time I may buy a few pieces that are one size up. One thing I lucked out with was weather, so I was able to rotate in a couple of cheap non-maternity sundresses from Old Navy.

@winniebee: :( I need a new bra, too, but for some reason the one I got is on backorder and I have no clue when it will arrive. I thought it wasn't on backorder--and at my new size I can't shop in person for one.
I'm just wearing my VS "one size" thongs now--luckily I have a few of them. And I need to do laundry more often--not enough clothes to let the laundry go!

@Oceanis723: I'm thisclose to getting a maxi dress.

@LivsMama: I’m barely at the point of growing into maternity clothes but since I'll probably be at this stage during the summer I'm planning on really stocking up on maternity maxi dresses (especially since I plan on being able to belt and wear them later). Where did you find to be the best resource for getting yours?

@winniebee: Could you do Maxi Dresses with a blazer on office days (not trial days Im guessing)? I work on wall street so had to keep it somewhat professional (we are business casual around here) so I was wearing maxi dresses with blazers and either wedges or embellished sandals.

I had fat arms at the end too (I had excessive swelling and issues for the last month) and those loose tops I posted hid it really well. I know spending more is frustrating. But you can proably, with only two months to go, get by on some staples and not buy a ton. And get stuff to wear after (some of my maternity maxi dresses work after with a big belt, and those tanks I posted work. The flowy shirts are hit or miss. Sometimes theyre bad and sometimes they work lol.)

@bree72: OH forget the Old Navy "skinny jeans" more like whale jeans. They are full panel and the panel barely covers my belly button! I need new underwear (for a second time now) also another bra.

@LivsMama: On the one hand I am psyched to potentially start wearing dresses and shortsleeves and am going to try to hold off and get more spring stuff - BUT now I have crazy leg and arm cellulite so super self-conscious!!

I have spent so darn much on maternity clothes because I needed them at like 12 weeks and I'm so annoyed I'm going to need to buy more!

Has anyone else noticed how cheap maternity stuff is? My problem hasn't been so much growing out of stuff, as it has been stuff developing holes (three gap tops and a pair of old navy leggings) shrinking, or fading/color running (I had this striped boat neck top from gap that i LOVED, until I looked in the mirror to see that the stripes in my armpit area had run and turned the whole area purple!)

I'm really not hard on my clothes, either...

Well one good thing is that we're heading into warmer weather and you can probably wear flowy stuff. You know I loved asos. I had a lot of the below the bump pants and some flowy shirts from there that I loved. I also lived in tanks and cardigans toward the end. Liz Lange has some basic maternity tanks at target with no ruching that are SUPER stretchy that I loved. Also at Target there is a BeMaternity (I think) brand plain tank that I swear Octomom could have used to cover her belly lol.

I had a lot of tops like these

http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Maternity/ASOS-Maternity-Top-With-Dipped-Hem/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2094326&cid=8344&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Blue+marl

I'm on like my 3rd set of clothes now. It's depressing. The demi panel pants were great until I really started to show; now I can't wear any of them. I also can no longer wear skinny jeans. I've been through 2 sets of bras and my sizing has changed again. Also, it seems like most maternity shirts are officially starting to get shorter up front. You can see my pants panel if I move around too much. I've also had to go up a size because I had no hips before and now they have arrived. This includes underwear.

I never realized just how much your body can change during pregnancy. I thought you could just get one set of clothes and be done. Yeah, not so much.

that happened to me towards the end with RJ as well! I looked like a stuffed sausage in so many of my shirts. For this time around I'm actually buying in one size up since I'm trying to conceal my pregnancy at work now, and these shirts will all be too tight and short towards the end!

Me too!! I thought it would be different--apparently all the clothes are made for 6 months exactly--before that too big, after too small. :(

Sigh. One pair of maternity pants is too tight in the bum and many of my maternity sweaters are already getting short - I have 2 more months to go! Anyone else with me? Boooo.
