I actually have been to the States quite a few times. The last time we went, we took advantage of our great parental leave policies and visited with LO for 7.5 weeks.</p> <p>ETA: I forgot to answer your question about parenting. One thing that sticks out to me is that it seems to me that American parents try to stimulate their children a lot more. Here the kids have a lot more independent play without special guidance - if that makes sense.<br /> Other things I believe are due to different surrounding factors as in daycare all kids &lt;3 years are in mixed groups.
