@Maysprout: I have one of those at my moms, but Liv loves to sleep with her back up against something, so those make me nervous. Im convinced one night shes going to push so hard against it shes going to squeeze into the space or unhinge it. I know neither of those scenarios is likely because of how secure they are, but thats just my paranoia lol. We currently just use pillows around the perimeter of the bed, but if she falls its only like 10 inches or however thick the mattress is, so I dont worry

I don't have any experience with that or pool noodles. We just picked up a pair of guard rails from target, or someplace like that. The middle is mesh and they've worked well for us the past year.

Liv has been on a queen mattress on the floor since she was about 16 months old. She started climbing out of the crib effortlessly then, even with the mattress all the way down on the floor, so we had to remove it. We just bought her big girl bed frame, and although the height is pretty low, I still want rails for security. I like the idea of the ones that go under the sheets like this one

http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Bumpers-Portable-Child-Safety/dp/B003KFCV6S/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1370613829&sr=1-1

But my question is, does anyone have experience with either those, or using pool noodles the same way? What do you all use?

Thanks!
