I sleep sideways on our king all the time with the kids so they will roll into the headboard instead of the floor. It seems people are pretty divided on this :-) We could probably fit a queen but then the whole room is mostly bed, and we only have guests staying there every other month or so so it seems like a waste of a room. That's why I was thinking of a twin with pop up trundle. Our third bedroom is exactly as you describe. Two desks, our peloton, storage, and the guest bed. We had a full and just switched to a queen (its our old master bed when we upgraded to a king).
