@scg00387: We got a giant package at Costco! The package says "Roasted, Seasoned Seaweed - Winter Harvest." It does have some salt, so we only give C a few sheets per day.

Anything really. In the beginning I would just leave some veggies behind and cook hers a little longer till they're very soft. Works especially well in stir frys.

Her faves were def broccoli and peas!

+1 for steamed broccoli! I steam it a bit longer than I would to eat it myself, but our girls love it and it is super easy to grab.

broccoli is easy to pick up. My son loves snow peas. And we've given him corn on the cob and he loves it.

@yoursilverlining: yesss. part of the problem is I would happily never eat another vegetable in my life... i am a recovering super picky eater who just in the last year has tried lots of things for the first time. so, thanks for this list! some of them would've never occurred to me.

@Giraffe: Yes, corn and peas I forgot about but we've been doing. Seaweed!! Interesting. Where did you buy it?

and another vote for sautéed spinach or chard - C loves to pick up little clumps of greens!

Steamed green beans? Broccoli and cauliflower can be fun too, if they're pretty soft. If your LO has a good pincer grip, corn kernels are good (I know, not a real vegetable, but so delicious right now.)

Our other new favorite is seaweed. C loves the texture and the crinkly sound, and it is apparently full of nutrients!

oh, and sauteed spinach is one of LO's favorites - especially with a little nutmeg on it!

Anything that can be cut into a cube or "fingers" and either baked, roasted or sauteed will work!

LO approves of:

Zucchini
Summer squash
Carrot
Eggplant
Fennel
Asparagus
Mushrooms
Onions (my LO loves sweet onions)
Green Beans
Parsnip
Turnip
Peas
Apples (fried in butter or baked)

Just cut into manageable sized pieces and saute or bake until soft enough to gum through. :)

LO is way into finger foods over mashes these days but I struggle with veggies for him since a lot of what we eat for veggies is raw spinach or raw carrots, peppers.

Anyone have good ideas for finger food veggies that I'm not thinking of? we've done:

sweet potato fries
sauteed squash
raw tomatoes
avocados
shredded cucumber
