I have coworkers who had 9 and 11 hour commutes and others who had to sleep at the office. I live in the city, but it still took me 2 hours to go 6 miles home. Part of the problem was that we workers in our office building had no idea that traffic was getting so bad until we were out in it and had to suffer through. We could see the snow falling, and parents were getting notices that schools were closing, so everyone headed out, expecting mid-day traffic volume.
