I've been doing DD1's hair since she was just a couple months old. I don't know if she's tolerant because we do it every day or if she just doesn't care. For a while I didn't do bows because the other babies would try to eat them.
I'm planning on starting DD2 soon so she's used to it too.

olive does not like headbands (she doesn't like tiaras either), but she is fine with hair clips and always has been. i think they grow into it more as they get older.

Yep, just keep at it. How old is your LO? Mine went through stages. I would put them in until she took them out. Once she got sick of the headbands more and more often, and her hair was longer, I started putting in a little pony in the front... hard to describe but kind of like a side part and clipping your hair back, except making it a pony. I would then often clip a bow to that tiny pony so it looked like her hair was clipped back, but it was more secure. She also seems to not notice the little hair elastics as much at all, and that helped ease her into it. I hope I described that well... it's hard! But yeah, just keep at it. If you quit doing it because of a stage, when you start to try again she will want no part of it!

At 22 months R is finally getting better about this. She WON'T wear headbands at all. But she is doing so much better with pony tails and clips.

C went through a phase where she hated them. I used to just distract her and then stick it on her anyway. She got over it after a couple months.

My LO 1 liked bows but fiddled with them until she was 2....she is now 3 and puts them on herself. (Easy alligator style)

LO 2 asks for bows but they only stay on for 10-15 mins max!

E was obsessed with pulling them out for awhile, and then a few months later, started wanting them in her hair. Tries to put headbands and bows in, etc. Puts them on her daddy....and now she has no problem wearing them. She's 21 months now

I know hair bows, headbands, etc. are not everyone's cup of tea, but I like them. However, my daughter does not! She has started pulled headbands down (around her neck which freaks me out!) after a couple minutes of wearing them. She has a little bit of hair that I can now clip little bows into. She tolerates those better, but eventually she pulls them out. Also, her twin brother is attracted like a magnet when they are in her hair and ends up pulling them out if she doesn't.

I'm curious if anyone has "overcome" hair accessory dislike (haha, I know this is a first world problem!) or if I should just give up. I'm just wondering if I should keep trying them and hope one day she decides headbands are her jam?
