Isn't it funny how we are so much more critical of ourselves? I vote try highlights especially since it's summer. FWIW when I start getting greys I'm not going to try and cover them. I always loved my Aunt and Grandmas white hair- I not so secretly hope I go all white. As more and more silvers come in my hair will literally not hold anything darker than a light brown. If I want darker than a light brown, it has to be redone every 4 to 6 weeks, and that's with only washing it twice a week. Has anyone transitioned from always coloring their hair dark (covering greys on naturally dark hair) to a lighter color as they got more grey? My hair just doesn't seem to want to hold dark color anymore, and it's so obvious when it grows out. The ends that have been colored many times want to be light too, and I use the right shampoos (not to mention barely wash my hair anyways). My issue is stylists always seem to suggest highlights, which doesn't help as it grows out because it's not the same distribution of lightness as my hair. Plus I don't love that look on me and I definitely don't love the time and cost involved! Help! My appt is in a week. I should post a pic but my hair is so ugly. </p>
