Sounds like a popped blood vessel (has happened to my mom before) but I'd check with the doctor to be sure!

Hmm, I think a popped blood vessel from the screaming/straining, as well.. I've had half of my eye bright red like that when I was pregnant and throwing up like crazy..

My LO has burst blood vessels on her face from screaming...I would assume it could happen in the eye.

But I am a worrywart so I would still call the doc.

do you have a picture?

its weird that its just half of her eye - my kids have had red eyes before from lack of sleep and spring/fall allergies

So yesterday after our daughter woke up from her nap she was not having a good time. She was screaming at the top of her lungs, and it took a good hour to calm her down. It wasn't until dinner time that my husband noticed that one of her eyes on one side is completely bloodshot.

Could this be from straining while screaming? It's not allergies.. we have two dogs that have been around since she was born.
