@ILoveLettie: That's a good idea. I have one with a clip somewhere. I need to find it.

@ILoveLettie: Great idea! We had a little pocket sanitiser that went everywhere. And washed a huge bunch of toys and stuff, just in case.

Hugs! We are currently in the middle of an HFM breakout at LO's daycare and she had it--sore only in her mouth though. Definitely extra sanitizing of hands and of any toys that all may come in contact with. Wash your own hands/sanitize them as much as possible because they're the main things touching all 3 little ones! Maybe get one of those tiny hand sanitzers that you can clip onto your belt loop? That's what we use at the daycare between hand-washings. Only takes a few seconds to use so you can do it when he puts his hands on you.

Thanks @mamag @jaguar! The only open sores are in his mouth right now and I'm trying to constantly wash my hands and such but he keeps putting his hands in his mouth and then touching me...so I'm not sure I'm going to be able to avoid his germs.

Insane hand washing, particularly after nappies as well. It's pretty easy to catch, so just do your best - it's hard with little ones, but they're pretty resilient. x

My understanding was the fluid from the blisters/sores is what was infectious. We were advised to be very careful with LO's open or weeping sores and to wash our hands. Somehow DH ended up with it, even though I was the primary caretaker.

So I would start with trying to keep any fluid away from the twins. And make sure you are taking care of yourself. You don't want it either!

So my 20 month old was diagnosed today with HFMD. It's primarily in his throat and mouth, with some sores on his butt right now. No more fever so the dr thought he was almost over the worst of it.

But I have 8 week old twins and the dr told me to keep him away from them. How do I do that?! I'm watching all 3 of them by myself and while I can prevent ds from kissing them like normal, they're all in the living room with me and I'm sure I'm passing germs between them.

Any ideas for trying to prevent my twins from getting sick?
