I understand! I was looking through S's things this weekend and realized that out of 3 bins of clothes, I only have one pair of shorts that could be worn by a little boy. I have no problem going out and buying a bunch of stuff for a little boy, if that's what I find out I'm having. But, parting with all her things would be really hard, and I don't even plan on having any more babies after this one!

No, I am not a very sentimental person, but seeing some posts here have made me rethink so I started keeping a few things just in case the girls care when they are older!

I'm keeping my eye on the classifieds, sounds like some super cute items might come up soon ;)

I sold all of M's newborn stuff as soon as she outgrew it, I was so upset about that once we found out C was on her way. Now that she's here and we're D.O.N.E. done done I'm having a harder time!

@Shopaholic: Yes it is so much easier at least for me to pack up M's bigger more loved pieces :)
Your sister is lucky!!

@mrs. wagon: you make me want another one, but also scared of the different kind of love. Like what if I love kiddo #2 more - how could that be possible?! Ahhh but I hear you! I feel like K's going they a bit of a growth spurt right now and everytime I ask DH about keeping an item, he's always telling me to give it to my sister. He never cares to save any of it! I've probably given her 80% and 20% i want to keep. I think it would be different if they were boy clothes. Also the age when they wore them. I'm sure once they're playing and clothes got worn out, they're not as sentimental? All that to say, feel free to keep some pieces just because you want to! ;)

I gave away everything from the first 6 months which was A LOT of pretty cute clothes! But then we came around to the idea of a second child and I started hoarding everything. I'll donate it if I can't use it.

@MsLipGloss: I think the same thing all the time - that there's no way I could ever love my 2nd as much as I love LO. It's unbelievable how much I love being her mom. I'm just going to trust the Bees with 2+ that my heart really does have more room ;)

And yeah, I suck at getting rid of her clothes. I'm secretly thrilled that we are considering having #2 so I have an excuse to save her clothes...

Oh, and I hear ya on skipping a size! LO is 4 months and went straight to 6 mo clothing this week, and a lot of it is almost too small. AGH?! Some of the clothes in her dresser she never got a chance to wear!

@oliviaoblivia: haha!!! I should just set up a little tabletop store ;) I will definitely try to post things before the meetup so in case you want anything, we can save on shipping ;)

@MsLipGloss: I am sure you have heard it before, so much so that it seems cliche, but your heart absolutely expands when you have another child. My love for WJ has not changed at all (has grown, in different ways, as he grows up... for instance, an aspect of my love for him that didn't exist before is how we communicate back and forth and what we say to each other every day) but I love LMW just as much, if not more, than WJ. I can't say exactly how equal the love is since the ways I love her are so INCREDIBLY different from how I loved WJ when he was her age, at every stage. They're different people so I love them in different ways. But I do have a soft spot for her since she's the baby (and I was the baby of my family) AND she's a girl. BUT I have a soft spot for WJ since he was my first baby. It's so ridiculously hard to explain! Impossible to really understand until (if) you go through it yourself. But with WJ I felt like my heart was going to explode with love for him every single day... and with LMW I feel the exact same amount of pressure from exploding heart. And it's exponentially higher since they're both happening at the same time.

I cannot explain it... no matter how hard I try!!! ;) All I can say is that I love WJ with my whole entire heart, and I love LMW with my whole entire heart. When I'm with them both, my heart just goes supernova on me.

@mrs. wagon: I am in the same boat! We are still on the fence about having a second (we have leaned both directions lately), and I just can't bear the idea of giving up any of LO's clothes . . . not even the preemie outfits she needed when we first brought her home. I guess I am still (not so secretly) hoping that we will go for a second, and that it will be a girl. or a boy! My heart is about to burst just thinking about it!

As an aside, I can't imagine loving anything as much as I love LO. But it happens all the time, right? Mamas love their seconds (and thirds, etc.) as much as they love their firsts, right?

I have some brand new 4T stuff that my DD never got around to wearing... this weekend I made her try on a bunch of stuff to see if she could still squeeze into it.. it's sad to let go of the NWT stuff especially since you can't resell it for what you bought it for.

I've basically been purchasing clothes for LMW with funds I get from selling her outgrown stuff (woohoo!) and it's been a great system. However, she has just gone through a crazy growth spurt and seems to have completely skipped over the 18-24 month size range. I know sizes for companies differ, but her current warm coat is a 2T from Old Navy!! CRAZY!!

So of course I started the process of gathering things to sell here on the classifieds and on my local Facebook parenting groups. Since most of the clothes are warm weather clothes anyway, I might as well start now, now that it's pretty chilly here in New England.

But I just COULD NOT DO IT. Everything is SO CUTE and she's only worn things once or twice (if at all!! She received two Mini Boden sleeveless dresses for her birthday, never had an occasion to wear them and now they're too small!) and I just could NOT pull a single thing out of her closet to put into a "sell" pile. I just can't let them go!!

We haven't bought too many shoes so I'm ready to see those go, since she wore them a good amount of times. So keep an eye out for those ;)

Have you had trouble letting go of your kids' clothes? I thought I was done with the hoarding tendencies (I give away and sell so much of Wagon Jr.'s stuff that I've had to re-buy things... oops!!) but with the super adorable girls clothing that's barely ever been worn... I just can't.

I think I need to start dressing her in cute clothes for everyday wear just to be able to use them!! Usually she's just in a onesie and matching pants set from Carter's.
