@MrsH: hugs mama! I went back after #2 last week but LO only started daycare today. I missed him so much! But we survived! It is definitely harder than LO1 but I think some of that is that this one is an easier baby and I am a more confident mama so I enjoyed my leave more.

I think it will be harder for me! I thankfully have a longer leave this time, but I'm afraid DD will take me leaving a lot harder. DS was a very easy baby and took a bottle, so by the time I went back to the office I'd been away from him a bunch of times. DD won't drink from a bottle so I haven't been away from her more than two hours... and she's kind of high strung so I can see her freaking out looking for me

It was definitely harder the second time for me, solely because I went back after 14 weeks with #1, and 5 weeks for #2.

I took two weeks longer this time and I am so so sad about going back!! I was soooo ready to go back last time! I think the major difference has been having a winter baby last time and feeling stir crazy whereas having a summer baby this time I've been out and about and doing a lot with my time w the kids and feel like me already! Work just seems like a chore right now but at least I wah most days...

Harder. BUT, I also hated my job a LOT more. I took 13 weeks with both.

Both easier and harder. Harder because he was so much more calm and happy than my first so I was sad to miss out on cuddles from him. But easier because I was happy to get back to my "normal" life and move on w my career again.

I found it so much easier to go back after my 2nd. No crying or anything. I took 12 weeks with both.

I found it harder to go back after my 1st. With my 2nd I got bored and found part time employment with flexible scheduling when LO was around 6 or 7 months. I love the dynamic of being a WAHM. My son goes to preschool full time. DD starts daycare when she's 1, she's a great napper so I can get all my work done during her nap time.

Definitely harder. I'm not going back!
Also, I'm pregnant again and due two weeks after my return date so there that, but in my mat leave with DD1 I was ready to go back around six months, this time I'm much happier being home with my girls full time.

I feel like an awful mother saying this, but I ran out the door after having #2. I guess it was because I did it once and everyone survived.

This being said, I only work 1x/week so maybe that had something to do with it. I can't imagine going back full time - *hugs mama*.

Even though I've been working remotely on projects for awhile, tomorrow my maternity leave is over and I return to the office. I am dreading it so much more than after DD1. I'm not sure if it is a combination of not really having a normal "maternity leave," having to put DD1 in full time daycare, having DD2 be only 12 weeks when going to daycare (DD1 didn't go to daycare until 6 months), or what but I don't like it and I feel really sad anxious.

How did you feel returning to work for kids 2, 3, etc.?
