We alternate pronouns like @Grace. :) I also use both names we picked but only in my head since we're not sharing them yet. Out loud we just say the baby, or baby blue if talking to my MIL (the baby was blueberry size when we told them, so she started calling her that).

Not buying clothes is the hardest part for me but I think it's more of a plus since I'm trying not to buy them until after my shower anyway!

Hahaha, we are team pink but I still call her "it" every now and again! I can't help it, she feels like an "it" to me right now!!

We aren't TG but until we found out what we were having we just called her by whatever fruit she was at the time. I tried to avoid "it" because it just felt weird. So, it was either a fruit or The Baby.

We are TG and honestly the hardest part for me has been THE SAME people asking me at least once a week if I still don't know what it is. If I told you we weren't finding out and there is obviously still a baby in there then when would I have found out?

Other than that, I love it and I think we'll do it next time, too.

The hardest part for me was not being able to buy girl or boy clothes! I would have chosen neutral baby gear either way so we can reuse. But on the other hand, it stopped me from buying a ton of stuff in advance, so I had a better idea of how much i'd need in each size...and what season I'd need the size in.

We call the baby Donatello because I thought he/she looked like a turtle alien at my NT scan.

I just had my shower last weekend and we got most of the gear we needed. But we also got a lot of gender neutral clothing, a girl's onesie and two boy's outfits. Oh, and a TON of bibs - we now have over 40 and I've bought one myself out of all of those. But my mom and my DH's aunt both did gifts of "baby's 1st" bibs for all of the holidays so that accounts for most of the bibs.

I called my son Francis/Frances while he was in utero, we were team green.

Hardest part was not stocking up on clothes, but in the end, it saved me a boatload of money!

We're not TG, but we call our little guy Flipper. Somehow it just stuck. Now half of my family is secretly afraid that we're going to name him Flipper, heh.

We called it different names. At first it was just whatever Fruit he was...so for a while he was "my little blueberry" or "my little lemon". Then he became Frances for a while, and eventually McBebe.

Just to clarify- I dont mind "the baby" at all. It's just the "it" or "he or she". I don't think I'd call the baby by name anyway, even I'd we knew. Won't be officially named until born anyway. It's just hard to avoid a gender specific pronoun!

I still am really glad to be team green, although maybe for the next one I would find out to give Dh his way too.

I loved being TG with my daughter. No one bought us clothes for my shower, we were able to reuse all our nursery stuff for my son, who was born almost two years later, and we got the gear we needed instead of gender specific things. But, I totally agree with you, it was hard calling the baby "it." Due to a new house and not wanting to paint, we found out my second pregnancy was a boy and it did make it feel more real. I liked being able to call the baby by the name and I felt like there was a deeper connection because I could think "my son" as opposed to "my baby," but I hated that one of the biggest surprises of my life was ruined. Since I'm pregnant again, and we only have one bedroom left in the house, I kind of want to be TG again. I thought it was super fun and loved the surprise, we will just have to see if DH is on board (and hope for a girl because that bedroom is pink!).

We used the baby too b/c we could never come up with a good nickname! I've heard lots though.... little bean, jellybean, and "the boss" come to mind at the moment.

Nothing was particularly hard, but it did stink when everyone else was finding out! There was a good number of us Spring moms & I had a few friends pregnant around the same time so when I would stop thinking about it they would be finding out. Otherwise I like the gender neutral gear & loved not getting baby clothes until after she arrived! (we got alot of hand me downs from her cousins who is exactly 1 year older & has TONS of really great clothes).

I want to be TG again but since we're "trying" for a boy DH really wants to find out.

I knew I was having a girl and still called her 'the baby'...for some reason I didn't feel right calling her by her name before she was here! I know, strange. But what about picking a nickname? I also called my lo "little peanut" when I was pregnant.

We were TG and we just called her "the baby" (super original, I know!) throughout my pregnancy in order to avoid the whole pronoun conundrum.

I can't think of anything I found to be particularly difficult about being TG. I would totally do it again and the surprise at the end was so worth it. I wouldn't have done a sex-specific nursery anyway, and one of the really good things was that since no one knew what we were having we got pretty much everything off our registry because no one wanted to buy neutral clothes (but we've been given tons of adorable girl clothes since she was born!).

We are team green-- my choice, DH would prefer to find out but is letting me have this. I don't mind setting up a gender neutral nursery, holding off on buying clothes, etc-- I genuinely prefer most neutral looks anyway. I'm fine with coming up with two names, boy and girl. I feel plenty connected to the baby, since I'm feeling kicks day and night, so I really don't think knowing the sex would change that. I even have hand me down baby clothes lined up for a boy or girl!

But the thing I really dislike is not knowing what pronoun to call the baby. 'It' seems so wrong-- I don't even call my dog 'it', so usually I'll just say he, since I think the baby is a boy anyway.

What is or was the hardest part for you of being team green?

I also think it's funny when people say things like, "Are you EVER going to find out?" Yes... a few seconds the birth!
