We have a rug in our living room, which is usually where LO is on the floor if she is. We usually have a blanket or her activity mat on top of that just because the rug isn't very soft. If I were going to put her on our hardwood floors now (she's 10 weeks) I would just put a folded quilt underneath her. It's totally fine for your LO to crawl on hardwood and tile floors.

We have an area rug in our living room so that's where baby will hang out when we're downstairs. Our upstairs is carpet.

We used a foam mat or blanket or put him on the bed (under safe conditions obviously). For me the toughest thing about wood was the slippage factor, especially when he was wearing his fleece jammies or something like that. Couldn't get those knees up!

@mynoahbear: We have a similar mat; I just put a blanket down on top and let DS roll around on there.

As far as crawling goes, it doesn't hurt them to crawl on hard floors, but you'll probably want something (a rug, a blanket, foam tiles, etc...) at first to give them a little traction. Once they get the hang of it, they're fine to crawl on hardwood floors, though.

we always just put olive on our hardwood floor. with charlie, we covered his entire room with these foam playmats.

http://softtiles.com/

you don't really need that for crawling, but it was great when he was standing and falling over. we might put them back once olive starts standing and cruising.

for now a little blanket is fine for your 3 month old.

We have a foam play mat where LO plays and crawls around on. Sometimes I put a blanket down on top of the mat.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002FKAMLA/ref=mp_s_a_4?qid=1342452414&sr=8-4

When she was smaller, her fisher price gym mat was big enough but now that she's more mobile, she needs more space.

This may be the simplest question but where do you all put your LO's if you have hardwood floor?
My baby is 3 months and we will be moving into a house that is all ceramic of wood floors. Up until now she has basically been in her swing or bouncer when I need to be in the living room or kitches however she is getting older and Ide like to give her more options plus how is she ever going to learn to roll over if she is just in her bouncer and swing?! So where do you all put your LO's? Do you just lay some blankets on the floor is there some sort of special mat? Help :-)

I thought about getting a little play yard but what about when she starts crawling?!

Also, do babies crawl on the hard floors? does it not hurt them?
