I think we will bring it with us, both for safety and to have a comfortable place for him to sit. I can't decide if we should buy the cheap Cosco one or take our Britax. I was going to gate-check the car seat and carry him on my lap but they told me there were enough seats open on the plane for him to have his own seat if I strapped the car seat in. I only brought it on the plane because they told me at check in that it was a really empty flight, so I knew we would have an extra seat. As for fitting, you have to look on your seat to make sure it's FAA approved, and then you can take a look at the measurements of your seat + the plane's seats and see if you think it'll fit.
