I imagine the box would be more protective?! I'd do it. (maybe call the airline to be certain that's allowed)</p> <p>We used the red bag (no protection) the few times we checked the seat. Has anyone done this?</p> <p>This car seat box would be baggage checked and not gate checked. </p>
