Except it wasn't so much indirectly as directly, lol. He actually pissed me off.</p> <p>Apparently, I gained 6 1/2 lbs in the last month...which isn't great, considering in the first tri, I already gained 11 lbs. But the first month of my second tri, I only gained like...1 1/2 lbs, and this month I was noticeably hungry and my belly went through a "growth spurt". </p> <p>Anyway, I get that it's his job to tell me to watch my weight, and I'm fine with that (I weigh myself, so I'm aware of when I gain), but he just kept going and going and said if I keep gaining 6 1/2 lbs every month, I'm going to gain 26 more lbs, and then I'll be "well on my way to gaining 50 lbs total", and then I'll weigh 200 lbs, and then I'll be obese and will have to deal with type two diabetes (doesn't run in my family) and heart issues (doesn't run in my family) for the rest of my life.</p> <p>This was my first time seeing this particular doctor in the practice. I was like, "slow down there, buddy. That's a whole lot of "ifs". Just because I gained 6 1/2 lbs from weeks 19-23 doesn't mean I will do that every month and a simple "you need to maintain your weight for the next month or two" would have sufficed.</p> <p>When he finally let me ask questions about other stuff after the long lecture, I asked when my next blood test would be, because I'm feeling super exhausted and was wondering if my iron is low (I don't take an iron supplement and it's not in my prenatals)--his answer was "Well, you've gained almost 20 lbs in 5 months. If I was carrying an extra 20 lbs, I would be tired all the time, too.".</p> <p>Thanks, Jackass!</p> <p>I wanted to tell him that I *just lost* about 20 lbs before my wedding, so it's not actually the first time I've been at this weight and I was *not* that tired before, but at that point I was done with him so I just got really steely until he apologized for being "blunt".
