Which is basically the same process.<br /> From what I was told from a contractor friend, yeah you could do it yourself. But the guys who do it professionally REALLY know what they're doing, have perfected the method, have all the right tools, etc. Application is everything especially in a wet area, and if you don't do it perfectly your chance of it coming off is pretty high. We originally planned to DIY it and I didnt like the way the test patch came out, looked like it was painted over. SO, we had them tile over the existing tile. It’s messy but not that difficult. It's a small space and the tile is in good shape, so it seems like a good DIY experiment.</p> <p>Has anyone done it? I got a quote and the price was ridiculous and I inquired about the process and it's exactly the same process as one of the $50 kits they sell at home depot. They quoted me $2k for a very small tiled area. </p>
