I have never taken it, but I work in long term care and we prescribe it for patients to increase their appetite.

@mrs. bird: They were really under control until about 3 weeks ago when my cycle returned. That was a bad week. Dr increased my Zoloft from 50 to 75. Been at that two weeks now. Last night I had another panic attack that made me vomit and kept up until about 2 am. Having more waves of panic now. Tried to take a xanax and vomited. Called Dr and this is when he was talking about Remeron. So, not very frequent since starting Zoloft, but more frequent recently. I just don't understand and am so tired of feeling this way. :-(

@citymouse: I don't take anything now, but I've taken a LOT of different meds in the past. How frequent are your panic attacks & do you take anything else to treat them?

@mrs. bird: I just started reading about it, and see that it makes people very hungry. Im just confused because I thought the Zoloft was working okay? But, I guess having breakthrough anxiety and vomiting from it is not well enough? Trying to read up on it now. Its a completely different class of medication. Thanks for your input!! Do you take Zoloft currently?

I've taken it. It works really well for most people, unfortunately I didn't feel as much benefit as most people & had an insatiable appetite, it was bizarre- I didn't even want to eat, food was gross, but I HAD to eat. From my understanding it's much better suited to treating anxiety than Zoloft so maybe you'd respond well to it. Hoping you find something that works for you soon! <3

The 24 hours have not been great for me. I called my psychiatrist and he suggested quitting Zoloft (at first he didn't even suggest stepping down!) and starting Remeron. I vomit when I have panic attacks and I explained to him that I don't think the Zoloft is what is causing my nausea. He said he understood but it should not be so severe to be vomiting. I don't know what to think? It makes me nervous that he so quickly is ready to switch around meds. I have an appt with a new psychiatrist on Monday, so I think I will wait to see what she thinks before making changes. (Seeing her bc she is in the same practice as my psychologist and wanted to streamline things, will tell my psychiatrist if I like her)
