Give yourself some extra time because it takes a good 20 minutes. I didn't have an option to add him on when I bought the tickets, but had to bring his birth certificate and my ID (and my boarding pass, but they would have printed that for me) to the check-in desk, and they printed out a "boarding verification document" (basically just a boarding pass) to bring him through security/boarding with. We're flying internationally, so our situation is different. But, before booking I read all of the infant in arms info on their website and it never mentioned anything like that.
