Most were a little too 'fancy' (Lyria) or were names like Ocean and Sunflower.</p> <p>But, we also fibbed a bit with her and told her that the baby would tell us her name when she was born. It's a special connection to a baby and its parents. So - she could suggest away, and we would talk to the baby before it was born, but it would tell us the right name once it was here. It was 100% to get out of the responsibility of telling her 'no' or letting her actually pick. I LOVE that idea but struggling to make it work with 2 kids. Right now DD6 is saying she wants to choose the first name and DS5 is saying he wants to choose the middle name, so it might work out. </p> <p>Has anyone done anything similar? Any suggestions? </p>
