He's had it treated by both air enema and contrast. In one case, we were pretty sure he was having it because he presented the same way, but the ultrasound was clear. The theory was that it resolved itself. If you suspect it again, just go the ER, tell them he has a history of it and they should rush you to get an ultrasound pretty quickly. LO had a belly ultrasound today and it was clear. The doctor said I still need to watch him closely because a clear ultrasound doesn't can't completely rule out intussusception. We literally spent all day at the hospital. I am exhausted! I just want my son to be okay and I hate not knowing what is wrong with him when he's in pain. Sounds similar. Wall me if you want to talk. He got it when he was 3 months old (1 month adjusted) which is very rare. Also started with mucusy, bloody poop which turned into a very sick, grunting baby within 12 hours, had emergency surgery in less than 24. Is your LO admitted in the PICU? I've had patients with no symptoms except constipation and abdominal discomfort and I've had patients with bloody diarrhea and horrible, horrible pain. It's been happening for a few days. He doesn't have a fever or bloody poop but it is a mucusy. The X-rays were normal and blood tests showed everything is fine. Was this acute? Did they send you to the ER? Kids usually have acute onset abdominal pain and they'll draw their knees up to their chest.
