Mine are one layer of flannellete with serged edges, they work great! I thought I would use terry, but they felt too rough on her skin (made her red), so I just use those as washclothes. You can also just use those cheap baby washclothes.

I bought a bunch of wipes from Green Mountain diapers and Etsy. I will probably make wipes from old receiving blankets when we have another baby.

We have nice, made-for-CD wipes, and we have thin, cheap Circo washcloths from Target. They work the same. We store them dry and spray her with plain water to wipe. When she's poopy we use Kissaluvs Diaper Lotion Potion.

I just use wash cloths. I got a ton as gifts so I took the softest for my wipes.

If you want to get fancy, of all the reusable wipes, these get the best reviews on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Thirsties-Pack-Fab-Wipes-Boy/dp/B0039VCRPI/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1OHOJ9JL45KY5&coliid=ISN07VVLITAU0

The fabric content is: Velour side: 85% cotton. 15% polyester, Microfleece side: 100% polyester.

It says, "A textured cotton velour on one side to assist with bigger wipe-ups and delicate microfleece on the other side for drying or for lighter messes."

I'm not sure where you'd buy cotton velour or microfleece, so the plain old washcloth sounds good! :)

I just use a bunch of washcloths from Carters, the ones that come in the 10 pack. Nothing fancy, no wipe solution, just plain water.

I used old receiving blankets but those wore out. I bought a whole bunch of cheap washcloths from the drugstore and those worked great.

Oh! Apostrophe has a great blog post about cloth diapering, and she mentions cloth wipes in it as well. A friend of hers made them out of flannel receiving blankets, and she also writes, "There are a few different ways to use cloth wipes, including storing them wet, but we store them dry and use a spray bottle. I like to spray the wipe and hubs likes to spray the butt. Potato potahto. Right now I'm using a homemade solution of water, baby oil, and baby shampoo (there are a ton of recipes here), but I just ordered some California Baby Diaper Area Wash to try as well."

And if so what fabrics did you use? I'm thinking of making double sided ones with flannelette/bamboo velour combo and maybe a flannelette/hemp terry cloth combo. What have u used? What works well and what doesn't?
