The outside unit which is the condenser and the interior unit which is the air handler/evaporator coil. You may not need to have both pieces replaced. It's best to just get someone out for an estimate as prices will vary widely. I'm in Texas and we had a close friend do the work so it was deeply discounted. It will also depend if you need the condenser (outside unit) or the a-coil (inside the home) or both replaced.
