I actually missed the actual time share haha. It was fairly high pressure but it was through Westin/ Starwood so not too sketchy. It was pretty easy for me to stay firm on our no, but Dh sounded like he was waivering, which made the sales guy try harder. It was super high pressure and the guy pretty much started yelling at us. I was really uncomfortable, but my dad is a lawyer and was taking none of it. We met with a guy at the very end who seemed very stressed by our guy's sales techniques (and by techniques, I mean insulting us). I was so annoyed. We clearly weren't buying and had no trouble saying no, but they wouldn't give us the free cruise we went for until the end. </p> <p>If you're nervous about saying yes, anytime you feel like giving in ask about additional fees. I knew there was no way my husband could be convinced and he wasn't! It was kind of entertaining to watch them pull out all the stops to sell. We just kept saying we needed to think about it. Then bought. It was while I was pregnant with LO and I blame the hormones-just couldn't think straight. Right after we did it, I had morning sickness for the first time and I was already near the end of my first trimester or beginning of second. So literally sick to my stomach. Thank goodness there is a 72 hour (i think that's the amount of time) cancellation period which we did. We got discount tickets to Univeral Studios and free tickets to a dinner show. Sadly I was not aware of the time share presentation, I was clueless. But we went to breakfast at a nice restraunt then toured a property, all in their vehicles so you are stuck. Then the presentation started. I had had it, I had a headache, we were wasting time that we were suppose to be at Universal (over 2hours at that point) and I ended up getting a little peeved. I didn't even give them time to talk, said no I don't need to see or know anything else, don't have the $ to buy so you are wasting your time and demanded a ride back to our car. DH being nice to them and pretending to be interested. The free dinner show tickets sucked and for some reason I said something in front of the lady completing the exchange. And she let us know there were other options, they just don't tell you willingly. So we got $100 cash instead. I only paid $75 for the whole package so I guess it was a win. My dad now owns 3 weeks of a two-bedroom in platinum season with Hilton. I love it because he gives me a week every year for free! On our last vacation in July, DH and I went to another timeshare presentation (by Hilton, just trying to get to you buy more), so my dad could get an HHonors points bonus. We got a free breakfast and got a tour of a new property and then declined all offers and left. Luckily, he is really good at saying no so I'm not worried about getting sucked into a timeshare or anything.</p> <p>Have you ever attended one? Was it worth getting something for cheap/free? </p>
