My 4 year old and her almost 3 year old friend both loved it. Lots of dancing in the aisles. I will say, as an adult, there were a few characters who were very racially profiled and that left a bad taste in my mouth.

We took our 4 year old and 20 month old, and both enjoyed it. The music entertained our youngest and our oldest loved the plot, I recommend it!

We just went yesterday with my 3.5 year old. I don't know that it's worth the price of admission for a kid, honestly. I echo everything @bookwormmama said. My kiddo got too antsy as well, and she did fine with other movies. The content is a little over their head too.

I'll echo everything @bookwormmama said. Except that we didn't even make it to the end because my 3-year-old got too antsy. Not enough action for him ... and TBH, I was also bored. Usually there are enough good jokes to keep adults engaged in kids' movies, but this one was a yawn for me.

My 5-year-old also fell asleep!

@bookwormmama: I didn't like the little mouse either! Haha I'm mostly fine with her singing it and while it's not the worst thing she could say, I didn't want her singing it at church

I took my 2.5 year old, who is normally great in movies, and he did not do too well. He loved Moana and sat through it twice. He also sat through Finding Dory (his first theater movie) with no issues. He also watches a lot of movies with more "grown up" (IMO) storylines like The Incredibles and Big Hero 6 with no issues.

He really liked the singing/music parts, but there was a HUGE gap in the movie with no singing and the story felt a little boring to even me.

I also really hated the mouse (Seth McFarland's character). He was such a jerk throughout the whole movie, and I think it made me dislike the movie a bit. I wish the auditions section was longer, but basically what you see in the previews is it. There were definitely some funny parts, but my son struggled to sit still and I didn't think it was that great of a movie overall...the Despicable Me series is WAY better.

ETA: The ending was really fun though. My son got up and was dancing and clapping to the music. It was just a long time until we reached that point!

@Mrs. Sunshine: That's what my son calls the movie because that line was in all the previews. I asked if he wanted to see Sing and he says "oh my gosh look at her butt?" He also sings it randomly around the house, the grocery store, restaurants, etc :silly:

We just saw it this weekend. I brought both girls (3 and 1.5) and they loved it! The singing kept my youngest engaged, though she did think the bears and gangsters were a little scary. There was one part where these little bunnies sing "oh my gosh. Look at her butt" which my 3 year old thought it was good to walk around singing the rest of the day but otherwise it was great!

I took my 2.5 year old to see it and she really liked it! The music was really fun, there was one farting part that she laughed out loud to, lol. At the end, she got up and danced. There wasn't a lot of scary parts, just some mob type bullies and the gorilla's dad getting mad at his son.

Is it any good? What age is it appropriate for?

I'm contemplating bringing LO2 for her first movie (2 years old) but not sure if that's the right one. She has no problem sitting through a Pixar/ dream works type film at home but I'm not sure about the theatre!
