I too have been using acupuncture to regulate my cycles. I was at a pretty steady 34 day cycle for almost a year after BC and in the first month moved to a 28 cycle. My ovulation date has moved from CD20 to CD17 over 3 months. I'm hoping it will inch down a little more.

But it does take some dedication (1x week appts) and some serious cash. I'm dropping probably close to $400 a month for the sessions and herbs. My insurance only covers a little bit.

You could try vitex and see if you have any progress for a few cycles. But if you haven't been TTC for that long it might not hurt to wait it out a bit.

I actually had like 40-42 day cycles and then tried acupuncture to address them. By the time I got pregnant with my son I was down to like 30-32 day cycles. Major difference!

@spaniellove: you're right, i better just wait. I'm afraid it'll mess up my cycles more than necessary at this point.

@chibee: I've tried soy isoflavones, not to O earlier but just to help with O. There were some other women in a group with me trying to O earlier and all around there were mixed results...someone had a super long cycle and ended up needing Provera, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it especially if you already have an appointment with your doctor coming up.

@spaniellove: i've read a lot about vitex/soy isoflavones and I keep reading conflicting reports, so i was just wondering if anyone had positive experiences with it.
@mrs. bird: what dosage did you take?

For me, just losing 5-10 pounds changed it significantly.

I've taken vitex and it shortened my cycles to a normal range in the past. I wasn't doing any checking for O, so not sure if it got me to O, but it def helped with the shortening of cycles & made my Pms symptoms almost non existent & my skin was awesome when I took it. I feel like it can't hurt to try it (unless you're on clomid in which case they counteract each other and make both ineffective). I've also done the vit c mega dose to try to induce AF, I wouldn't recommend it as it wasn't successful and made my tummy awful. Black cahosh is another one I've used, didn't work to induce AF for me, but I've heard of other ppl being sucessful with it.

I tried Soy Isoflavones to make me ovulate, which is supposedly "nature's Clomid" and it didn't work. But, I found out later I have some Clomid resistance, so that could be a factor. But like Clomid, it can be known to delay ovulation, although it's supposed to make it stronger.

@chibee: Are you thinking of vitex/soy/something along those lines? Just asking in case there's someone out there who's tried them!

I just came off of a 47 day cycle - I have been off BCP since the end of May, and just when I thought I was leveling out at a 33-day cycle, I was hit with a 47-day killer with O day at CD36. I actually have a dr's appt in Jan with my regular gyno to discuss my irregular cycles, but after some research, I found out there are some natural remedies that might help - has anyone tried any of these?
