@mrsjazz: If you're not in a rush I've seen it on gilt, babysteals/kidsteals, zulily, and other deal sites before. They are usually almost if not half off. The one I got has 6 DVDs and comes with the panda stuffed bear.

@Maysprout: Good idea. I've been meaning to go get LO a library card. I do have Amazon Prime, I will check that out over the weekend. I wonder if they have any language videos on Netflix, too.

They have them at our library, you might want to check there.
There's a couple language videos on Amazon Instant if you have Amazon prime. We try them once in awhile with our LO but they seem to have minimal impact with our LO.

@mrsjazz: My guess is she'd enjoy it for about a year or so, especially if she's into watching other babies and toddlers. That seems to be the chief draw for my son. I like the fact that they're broken up into short segments, so the videos are easy to turn off without provoking a protest.

@erwoo: Hmmm. If I could get a deal like that I would buy it and then not feel too bad if we didn't use it a lot.

@honeybear: She's 22 months. She can count to ten in Spanish and knows some words like Hola, cabeza, and pelo (weird). I know the basics, so since DH has been slacking, I have been trying to speak more to her in the mornings when we are alone together. I watched a video sample and the repetition annoyed me but LO liked it. I'm just wondering if it's really worth it or if I could pull together something via apps and YT clips.

How old is your LO? We have a set of Little Pim videos in French. They're very basic. They cover things like colors, numbers, common household objects, body parts, etc. For young toddlers (whose parents don't object to some screen time), I think they're fine. The pictures/scenes change fairly slowly and there is lots of repetition. I think older children would be likely to be bored by them. LO is 3 and he only asks for them once in a blue moon now.

I bought Little Pim (Chinese version) off Gilt.com for $60? It's not bad but unless you speak to your LO all the time it's hard to remember. My oldest loved watching it from time-to-time but now he gets daily exposure at school and I speak to him at home so I don't use it anymore.

Since DH is totally unsuccessful at speaking Spanish with LO, I was thinking a good way to practice would be a language program like Little Pim. I think that DH needs more structure in teaching LO Spanish. I've used Rosetta Stone and I think it's awesome.

Has anyone tried this? It's a little pricey so I'm not sure we want to drop the money if there's something out there that may be better.

Also, does anyone know any apps for teaching children Spanish? (on the Google Market for Android).
