@macintosh: I did Fresh20 for a while. It was fine... I liked it for a month or so then I kind of fell off the planning wagon. I did save all the plans but I barely make them. I did this a while ago,'maybe 2 years. I got a 3 month plan on saw for like $19, so it was worth trying!

@junebugsmama: No I had never even heard of it. It sounds interesting and would be nice to have a plan because I often get stuck in rut

@macintosh: I did subscribe. Honestly I didn't love it. I prefer to just make up my own meal plan.

@T.H.O.U.: it looks similar. I like the concept of this one because I can choose a vegetarian only meal plan, the recipes look fairly simple, and it helps you use up your ingredients and leftovers. You're supposed to do an hour of prep time once a week.

I signed up for a trial of 6 o'clock Scramble, but their recipes look very complex.

Is this basically like e-meals?

I hated that. Too time consuming to cook (lots of prep) and no flexibility for if we didn't care for a meal (DH doesn't like tomato based meals etc).

I ended up kinda curating my own via pepper plate and scheduling ideas through there.

I saw everyone's posts about it making more than enough for leftovers. Perhaps, we eat too much at dinner time! lol

@Jess1483: I myself liked it; however, my husband is very picky, so a lot of the meals he wouldn't eat. Plus, we like to make enough in our dinners so that we both have leftovers for lunch the next day and there was never enough. Yes, we saved money with groceries, but were actually spending more due to one of us having to eat out at lunch the next day

I think that if you aren't picky, you would probably be fine.

@Mrs. Champagne: Oh man, I was just about convinced enough to buy. I'm a bit picky, so was going to get the annual plan so I'd have access to the archives. I'll hold off for more opinions...

I hated it!

Buying all the ingredients was a ton of money. The first meal was a roasted chicken. It was awesome but the amount it took to make wasn't worth it.
The second meal was plain gross!

We stopped after two days. :meh:

@Anya: Oh man! I am glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! hahaha. My husband and I both enjoy onions but they call for (what seems like) insane amounts!

I'm a die-hard user of the fresh 20. It's just me and my husband and we always have a ton of leftovers for lunch the next day.

PPs have covered the basics. There have been quite a few threads about it too - you should check them out.

Hope you like it!

Oh yeah I cut a lot of things in half for 2 adults- the dinners are meant to serve 4. @.twist.: is so right about the onions, they call for way too many! lol!

@junebugsmama: yay! ALSO, I almost forgot, I find that they are very generous with portion sizes. I end up buying less just because I know we won't use it all. (Especially for things like onions, I usually use half of what they call for for onions)

love it! I'm vegetarian but my husband isn't so I do the regular meal plan and tweak as needed to make some dishes meat-free or just a portion for myself. Sometimes I skip one meal and make 4 in a week, if we have plans to go out and whatnot (adjusting the grocery list accordingly- i feel like the Wednesday meal often has sausage as the main ingredient for some reason, so I skip that one a lot.) I don't make it every week and dip into the archives a lot. Oh and the regular meal plan has meatless Fridays! Usually seafood on Tuesdays.

Yes. Love it! I've saved tons of money, made healthier choices, tried things I would never try otherwise.

- In a week there is usually one meal I don't like, but I can deal with that for the 4 other delicious ones.
- I'm never, ever, stressed about what to make for dinner.
- Once you have a few months under your belt you can start re-using weeks you enjoyed. I don't think I would buy a second years subscription until I'm totally sick of the wicked book of weekly meals I've made for myself.
- Sometimes an entire week looks shitty to me, so I go into the archives and find a good looking week, OR I just redo a week that I really enjoyed.
- The prep work takes about 1.5 hours and although some days (I do prep on Sunday) I don't want to do it, it is totally worth it through the week.
- One misconception I had going in was that it made for zero time in the kitchen during the week. I thought all the prep made a very quick meal in the evenings. This is not always the case. Sometimes I still spend 30 minutes making dinner. The difference is that I know what I'm doing and I know it's healthy and I know it's variety.

Overall, I really love the fresh 20.

thinking about giving it a try. I would do the vegetarian one since I recently quit eating red meat or pork.
