@PinkElephant: it's definitely firmer than Sophie. I think the difference is that the inside of Sophie is hollow, but the banana isn't from what I can tell/remember. (my reference for dog toys might be a little skewed -- I have a pitbull mix  )

@jape14: hmm might be too soft - that's what I'd consider Sophie to be and she definitely just smashes it with her gums and doesn't seem satisfied.

@gingerbebe: Those might be thick enough that the softer texture wouldn't matter - I may give it a try (after I shake the image of the mold my first set grew when DD2 chewed them and then DD1 left them to soak in a bucket - yum! tossed those for sure!)

So no one has tried this egg contraption? :)

You know what's super random? My youngest hates all teethers but he LOVES those foam alphabet letters for the bath tub?? They are squishier than the hard teethers and flat so he can get it all up in his mouth. There's a zillion in each package so it can be almost disposable.

@PinkElephant: it's silicone but pretty sturdy. it's fairly similar in texture to a dog toy :silly:

@PinkElephant: The banana brush is definitely sturdy/chewy enough. My son loved that thing!

@looch: Thanks - I hadn't seen those before! Those might be the right shape/texture to keep her happy - and it makes me wonder if I should try just letting her gnaw on those plastic "links" used for chaining toys to a stroller/carseat handle....although the plastic in the chew tubes is probably "safer".

@jape14: Is it hard, or a squishier texture? The baby toothbrusehs we've had have all been too soft (without a finger in them, haha) to do much for her. I like the price point, though! :)

Have you tried the baby banana toothbrush teether? My son definitely preferred it to Sophie. They have it on Amazon and I've also seen it at Target. I think it's about $6 which is a little easier to stomach than $20!

Wondering if anyone has tried the new(ish) Teething Egg, and if your LO likes it?

DD is 6 months and seems to be working on some teeth. Her current preferred teether is her own hand (which is generally unsatisfactory after a few nibbles) or my knuckle (which is gross from a germs perspective, and kind of hurts!) we do have a Sophie teether (with the loops) which she plays with, and one of Sophie's friends (which is too thick in most parts to fit in DD's mouth). The makers of the Egg claim the shape makes it chew-able in even small mouths, and I'm wondering if it might provide more resistance to her bite (similar to, um, finger bones)....yet I'm reluctant to shell out $20 plus shipping on a whim sight unseen. 😊

Thanks in advance for any reviews!
