@niellyrae: I found out I was pregnant from a two line opk being positive, although I thought I was just ovulating really early. it is true though that they do get positive if you are pregnant.

Yes, that's how I figured out I was pregnant. I was messing with the OPKs just seeing what they read at different times in my cycle!

@niellyrae: I didn't get a positve OPK as HPT until I was like a week or so past my expected AF but I have heard of others getting one early.

I've seen it many times on a non-smiley opk so I can't see why it wouldn't be the same concept? A friend actually just found out she was expecting using an OPK first.

If you are just about to get your period, an opk could come up as positive because of the LH surge right before your period. I would take an hpt. Good luck!

@niellyrae: I wouldn't trust the advanced OPK with smileys. I'd get a HPT. Good luck!

I would get a pregnancy test to confirm. :)

They will be very positive if you were pregnant but they could give a false positive because a lot of people have an LH surge right before their period. So it's possible you are just late and you are picking up an LH surge before AF comes.

Yes, they work as pregnancy tests, but not the other way around. Unless your ovulating, you're pregnant. Congrats!

so af was due 2 days ago...I've been having cramping and very tired breasts are sore but always are right before af arrives...didn't have any preg. tests here at home so i used my clearblue advanced opk and it came up with a solid smiley. Has anyone else used and opk as a preg. test and gotten an positive result?
