My then almost 2.5 year old had it and it was definitely a mild case. Not really much worse than a bad cold except I had to stay away from everyone so long since it's so contagious. I think it's just luck of the draw more than age?

My DD was 15 mos when she got it last month and it was worse for her than her 3.5 yo brother. She had them classically on her hands, feet, and in her mouth, and his were more like an all-over body rash but without any in his mouth. It was definitely worse for her.

My 3 yo hasn't had it yet and I've always dreaded it, but since she's in preschool now I feel it's only a matter of when.

And I imagine her brother will get it too.

Anyway the thread on how bad it is for adults has me wondering if it's worse for older kids than babies and new toddlers too? Not that it really matters, I have both.
