She told me a story recently about her kids (1st or 2nd grade) taking the state test and they kept hitting the computer screen thinking it was a touch screen like an iPad. At first I didn't see the harm in letting him type some letters in Word, but now I wish I'd kept it off limits! Her apps are all in one folder so she knows how to get to her folder and knows how to get into and play her apps/games. She also knows how to get to YouTube via Safari and via the app and knows how to get to the videos she wants. We learned early on that DD1 was a quick learner and we taught her how to navigate to find her favorite apps and turn on her shows from our phone or tablets. Now she'll come in in the mornings, grab one of our phones off the charger and go into the living room and watch her shows on Netflix until we wake up. We never really use a computer in front of her (other than to turn on a movie or music) so she hasn't had much exposure to them yet.
