No, and it was always the same as my due date based on my LMP.

@PrincessBaby: I had a similar issue last time, my EDD was on a Saturday and baby was breech so I had to have a scheduled c-section. Since 20 weeks I had been measuring 2-3 weeks ahead (and had multiple ultrasounds) and based off my LMP my due date would have been 5 days earlier than the dating scan. I had hoped they could schedule the c-section for the Friday (38+6), but my OB would not change it.

My OB calculated my due date based on LMP and that date never changed even though he measured ahead at every scan (and we had lots of them).

My OB always used my O date.
Could you just fudge yours?

FWIW I always measured ahead but both girls arrived on time....we'll both ended up getting forced out, who knows how long they would have stayed in there on their own.

@PrincessBaby: after the dating scan where I measured a week behind LMP and they set my due date to that date. I measured ahead the entire pregnancy with LO1 and by LMP I was due a week earlier but they never changed my dates. :( This time the same thing happened at the dating scan but they are using LMP so who knows.

@PrincessBaby: that makes sense. Edit because I see you said the date makes a diff. Perhaps they can change it based on new findings. I would definitely see what they can do or are willing to do.

@MrsMccarthy: it's just 1 day, so I don't feel like that's going to drastically change any outcomes...And a difference of having my husband home for almost a week vs a few days. Then he is leaving for 3 weeks. So it's not really a predicament of total convenience, just that I'd like him to see his newborn as much as possible, and 24 hours difference in Due Date can make a big difference in our time together.

@SeptMomma12: I think their guidelines (ACOG? Not sure) state that they cannot schedule an elective induction before 39w, so I'm going to just talk to her and see what we can do, bc it seems like with a May 2 EDD, it can't happen on the Friday, but if it was May 1st, it would be fine. So annoying!!!

I've never had the date changed ever and they used my LMP last time which I think was wrong. I've read that the scan between 8-11 weeks is the most accurate with a margin of error of 5 days, after that the margin of error is 10 days because babies move so much and can grow at different rates. I don't think the new measurements are as accurate but you may be able to get your date pushed just by asking. Could be less favorable for induction though and mean more complications so I'm not sure if I would let a couple of days sway you. Best of luck.

Here is a fact sheet: http://www.ultrasoundcare.com.au/services/pregnancy-ultrasound-5-17-weeks-dating-and-viability.html

My doctor brought up changing mine at my last appointment after my NT screening came back a week ahead (also measured a bit ahead at my 8-week scan). I was pretty sure on my dates, but at the anatomy scan, I'm still measuring about 4 days ahead. Ultimately, we decided to leave it. I wouldn't choose to induce (my husband can stay in town, though--I totally see your reason for wanting to) unless baby is in distress, so I'd rather have as late a due date as possible so they'll let me wait. My first LO came early, though, so it's unlikely to be important.

I have two due dates in my record but it's been that way since my dating scan. My OB says 6/15 based on LMP but my blood work and radiology paperwork all say 6/10 (dating scan). I wish they would just pick one.

I actually just asked about this at my appt on Friday. My LMP would have had my due date on 5/16, but both dating scans early on showed a due date of 5/21, so that's what the doctor went with. Now she's measuring 1.5 weeks ahead, but he's sticking with 5/21 because he claims the early dating scans are the most accurate. That being said though, I can't imagine pushing the induction up 1 day could really be that bad, especially with your husband's schedule!

I think it changed by one day with one of my kids but I don't remember when it happened or why it happened. I want to say it was early on. DS1 always measured ahead and that didn't cause the due date to change. He was just really big.

They "officially" changed mine from my LMP date, but only after several consistent ultrasounds in the first tri, coupled with the fact that I was breastfeeding and had erratic cycles, and we knew the date of conception because I was using OPKs and we only did the deed once. And it was changed before 12 weeks. I have never heard of a late official due date change.

ETA: mine was pushed 10 days back - original EDD was April 7, revised EDD April 17.

Mine did change it after a lot of discussion, because I have long cycles but I was tracking my cycle so I knew my ovulation date. Based on my cycle they wanted to assign 2 weeks too early, then based on the first dating ultrasound it was a week too late. The next two ultrasounds both tracked within a day or two of when I said the due date should be based on ovulation. So we brought up our annoyance with the incorrect due date to the OB and had it modified.

With that said, I now have a midwife who says the first dating scan is the most reliable because afterwards you start getting genetic factors of tall/short and it can skew the assigned dating. I think that's why doctors are reluctant to modify based on later scans.

If you truly believe your due date is off, it doesn't hurt to discuss with your doctor.

Mine got pushed back! I went into the OB super early since I knew when I O'd and tested super positive by 13 DPO and prob went in the next few days. So when DD's growth was behind, they moved out my EDD and then her growth aligned perfectly.

Yes. My due date was changed about 3 times in the first 5 months. It changed between August 1 & August 12. Blah. It was honestly so frustrating and totally didn't make a difference in the end anyway since he came July 10.

I hope you can figure something out. Who knows, maybe you'll go into labour a week early!

Based on my LMP/O date, I'm due 7/30.
Based on dating u/s, I'm due 7/29.
Based on NT scan, I'm due 7/25.

I think they kept their records to read the 29th or 30th. I'm also keeping it in mind as the 29th. I know with DS I measured a week ahead at our anatomy scan, and I was still overdue two days past by orig dating scan EDD and they didn't officially change any dates.

The initial dating scan is the most accurate, but was your due date ever changed from the date you were given at your first ultrasound and if so, why?

I hit 39w on a Saturday according to the OB's calendar. Which means I can't get an induction started until Monday. This LO has consistently tracked 1-2 weeks ahead at every visit after the initial scan. I wish they would change my DD by even 1 day so I could get induced sooner. My husband has to leave for business the following Thursday for 3 weeks, and it's not looking like it can be delayed. So even a few days early would be so important to us, but I have no idea if they ever really change due dates....
