@BananaPancakes: Wow, yeah you lost a lot of hair, too. And in the same areas. I think I'm about to buy one of those colored sprays to cover up bald spots! :)

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I had locs when I was pregnant and they looked so much fuller, while the hair on my legs stopped growing...it was so weird. And then 3 months postpartum I started experiencing hair loss with all the hormones leaving. I was hoping I wouldn't experience it, but alas I did. I will look into those vitamins.

@MamaJ: Hahaha, you put it on your hair/scalp. I haven't researched it but did see a couple of YouTube videos with women who have used it.

@plantains: Yeah, I have some JBCO but I haven't been diligent about it. I just started rubbing a little in 2x a day to see if that would make a difference.

@skibobrown: I could tell when it first started growing back but now it seems to have stopped. I need it to grow back fully, I don't like this sparse look.

Oh man, I lost so much hair in my first trimester and then again postpartum. I lost it in a similar manner as you. @mrsjazz. All over, but with an emphasis on the front. I was just talking to someone about how I can't believe how much hair I lost. It's still growing, and it now looks like I cut bangs, but that's all actually regrowth. And it's still pretty thin up front.

I pulled the hair down in the photo here so you could see how much completely fell out at one point. The rest of my hair is a few inches past my shoulders.

@Mrs. High Heels: :sad:

@mrsjazz: Have you tried vitamins that promote healthy nails and long hair? I think it's beta caratin. Carrots and spinach are supposedly good for hair growth. I have used Nioxicin shampoo and conditioner, which helps to make your existing hair thicker.

@mrsjazz: Did you try Jamaican Black Castor Oil? I used some on my hairline when an overzealous braider damaged the front of my hairline and it worked a treat.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: you retain more hair when you're pregnant, but when you're postpartum all those hormones that helped with the hair retention throughout pregnancy goes away and your hair starts falling out! it's my least favorite postpartum side effect! :(

Can you tell if it's coming back in? Mine fell out for ages, and then it started coming back. The re-growth phase has been my least favorite by far though b/c the new hair stuck up straight in the air for a couple of months. Now that it is getting longer, it is still really frizzy, and if I don't attack my hair with smoothing serum and a straightening iron in the morning I look absurd :-(

I'm 8 months post partum and my hair looks like your second pic but only on one side! I'm not totally bald and its growing back slowly. Monistat? Do you put it on your hair or where it's actually supposed to go?? Lol. I'll try anything at this point! I got my hair done Saturday and the hairdresser just told me to give it time. Boo.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: My legs (and body, because I know you were just dying to know that!) were less hairy (and haven't returned to their pre-pg hairy-ness). My hair hair is just as thick, if not a little more so, than it was pre-pg. I am (almost!) 11 months pp.

I didn't know hair thinning and baldness was a pregnancy side effect. I thought people became hairier. I was looking forward to that.

I've never lost enough hair to cause a bald spot with either pregnancy but DS is 10.5m and I am still shedding like mad. Good luck and hopefully your hair will grow back quickly.

My daughter is 15-months old and my hair has not grown back completely. FIFTEEN MONTHS! No comprende. I started losing my hair when she was around 3 months and had a major receding hairline. Luckily my hair is poofy so I could cover up the baldness by poofing it out more. My hairline started growing back when LO was around 7/8 months but very slowly.

I just read that some women have used Monistat (yes, the yeast infection stuff) to help their hair grow back. I'm so desperate I just might try it! Any hair growth remedies?

This is basically how my hair looked when I lost my hair (only I have poofy hair, a short afro)
[attach=1461/13/mqtaj9.383x480.naomireceding.jpg]

This is basically how it looks now, still thin but not completely bald! Help!
