He liked walking through the fields and eating what I picked. His favorite part of the farm was the play area they set up for kids. There was a sandbox and lots of outdoor toys. She mostly ate while I picked since she was squishing the strawberries while trying to pick them and that didn't suit her neat freakish tendencies. I suggest bringing a bottle with water to wash them so she can eat while you pick. Another couple brought a spray bottle to wash the dirt. LO LOVES it, its one of her favorite things. She discovers about halfway through each visit that she can eat them and makes a total mess. The berry picking season is short here and we can only go on the weekends, so it’s usually pretty busy at all the farms. We’ve gone strawberry, apple, blueberry and raspberry picking. Both times she enjoyed eating the strawberries as we picked, so really it's a matter of your expectations :). She was able to 'pick' a berry with help from us to break off most of the stem, but mostly she was just eating them straight out of the container :silly: . Strawberry picking was not that interesting to him...the plants are low to the ground and you really have to look for the berries (although that might be because we were at the tail end so we had to look harder).
