@Springtime: Dr. Google is always trouble. Yes, it is possible, though unlikely. If it happens more, little one should be seen.

@Mrs. Jacks: He has perked up, I know I shouldn't google things, but I do, and came across absence seizures, do you think this is possible in a 1 year old?

I bet he's getting sick. DD had a day like that last week, and then she came down with the horrible stomach bug. Today she was uncharacteristically cranky, and then she came home with a fever and an ear infection. This behavior changes seem to usually be their only way of telling us that they feel crummy and under the weather.

He was perky all day today and back to his normal self. It was the scariest thing though. I will definitely bring it up at our 1 year checkup in a couple of days.

I would be concerned. A friend's LO was like this once. She slept for, like, 16 hours straight except for my friend forcing her awake and making her eat... That was a struggle. They took her to the hospital where tons of tests were run. There was nothing wrong. The pedi couldn't do anything but conclude she was extra tired.

@Springtime: I think I would be concerned. Hopefully he's just really tired and needs extra sleep, but I would get an appt with the pedi tomorrow in case something else is going on

I would be concerned. I think I'd make sure I had a Primary care appointment for tomorrow just in case he doesn't perk up.

Oh no :( no other symptoms? Maybe he's getting sick? Whenever B comes down with a cold, he lays around with a pouty face and sick eyes but doesn't complain of anything else. It's much harder when they are younger and can't tell you what hurts.

Scariest thing ever happened this evening. I picked LO up after work and we went to the store. Well he fell asleep in the cart!! He would cry until he fell asleep. I even picked him up and carried him around the store so he could sleep. That is so not like him. He slept a good 2 hours before we got home and then wouldn't eat his dinner, just cried. He was so limp and would just fall asleep anytime you set him down. I was freaking out and we ended up taking him to the ER where they said nothing was wrong with him

What are some reasons why he could be SO tired and lethargic? He took all his naps today and hasn't been sick at all.
