He had spoken to LO about his upcoming trip on several occasions to prepare him. Still, he woke up from his nap Sunday afternoon and wanted to see daddy. I calmly tried to explain it to him again but he wasn't listening. To stop him from whining and crying, I even tried to offer him some Halloween candy but he wasn't having any of it. I had to get the kids ready to go to a birthday party. I thought about not going but figured it'd be a good distraction once he's there. Finally, I just told him that we had I go and for him to put his shoes and jacket on. He kept saying no. So I told him that he can stay by himself and I'd go with his sister. Usually, once I say something like that he'll ask to go. But this time he just said okay. So I got ready, put his sister in the car and even went as far as starting the car and locking the house door. He just sat there. I went back in several times,pretending I had forgotten something, hoping he'd change his mind but he didn't even budge. Finally, I just went in, grabbed his shoes, coat and told him he was coming. Luckily, there was no more crying and by the time we got there, he was in a much better mood. </p>
